The winner will be selected on Thursday at the Health Industry Congress in Hamburg.
For the second time, the BQS Institute for Quality and Patient Safety together with representatives from BMG, DKG, APS, BMI, UKSH and this year REDCOM AG called for the submission of successful hospital change management concepts. Once again, there was great interest from the industry; however, as usual, only three applicants could be nominated.
Klinikum Fürth with an approach based on Positive Leadership, in which interprofessional and interdepartmental cooperation was significantly strengthened by creating a common positive leadership culture across professional groups. Sana Krankenhaus Rummelsberg, with its concept for establishing a center for patients with paraplegia, in which a cross-sector care pathway was developed in a broad-based development process involving patients. And finally, Kliniken Südostbayern, which uses a lean management strategy with the help of team boards to quickly identify problems and derive ad hoc solutions. This has been very successful in the area of planning ward processes and patient management, one of the core problems of current hospital surveys.
"Again, three high-profile concepts, again three core problems, and with patient benefit at the center. I am pleased that we may present clinics on this way again, which took their change management independently into their own hands and created sustainability after professional approach. A good message for Patient Safety Day. A good message for every clinic manager, because in addition to patient benefit, cost-effectiveness also played an important role in every project," says Felix Dorn, member of the management board of the BQS Institute and responsible for the German CHANGE Award.
